Both the 2015 Mustang and the 2014 knocked it way out of the park. Their features were impressive. The Mustang of recent years packs a punch, as always, but it seems that Ford has taken it up a notch with a consistent price and improvements that are subtle but key. Car enthusiasts remained enthralled by the Mustang, and its sale numbers prove the veracious appetite for the mighty car.

Roush Mustang Dealers looks at the two most recent iterations in the Mustang line-up and address some of the key differences. The big question for buyers is if the 2014 is a jump enough to justify the new year purchase. Sure, if they were the same price the 2015 would take the bill. But there is something to be said for an average of $8,000 price difference on the MSRP, and the quality gap between these two muscle rides. These numbers do look at the GT version, which is obviously a bit more amped up with a few superior features not addressed in the other models. Greater focus is on the 2014, because the price difference is enough to make it the superior deal.

The Specs of the 2014 Mustang

At a 420 horsepower, this little devil is a powerful ride. The power to weight ratio is 8.6, which is a bit higher than what may be expected. Fortunately, the 2015 model trims that down a marginal bit with a power and weight ratio of 8.5. For those that do not know, this is a number that matches the torque and hp with the total weight of the vehicle. Comparably, the 2014 iteration is 3,618 pounds and the 2015 is a bit heavier at 3,705.

Rounding out the specs is some data on its mobility on the course. The 2014 ranked a few better in speed, but the difference was so marginal it could have to do with the driver, as suggested in an Autoweek piece on the two models.

Both cars are fearsome, and Ford continues their reign with the Mustang. It is famous for a reason, and it is one of the most accessible in price sports cars in the Roush Mustang Dealers mainstream market. Get in touch with us for more details.
