Archimedes designed the first screw conveyor in third century B.C., it was used to remove water from ships and to irrigate farmland. Shaftless Screw Conveyors
Shaftless screw conveyor are ideal for handling bulk materials with high moisture content, sticky and sluggish material and difficult to convey bulk materials. The shaftless conveyor provides a non-clogging conveying surface and is available in many configurations, this provides flexibility for plant lay outs. The shaftless spiral allows for higher fill rates and typically uses less power, this reduces wear and maintenance.
Vertical Screw Conveyor
Vertical screw conveyors elevate bulk materials at very steep or completely vertical inclines and are ideal for handling dry to semi fluid materials. It has the capacity to elevate bulk material 30 feet vertically without the use of internal bearings. The compact design of the vertical screw conveyors will fit into most plant layouts. The vertical screw conveyor has minimal parts and has an enclosed design for dust and vapor tight requirements.
Screw Feeder and Live Bottoms
When a screw conveyor is used as a metering device it is considered a screw feeder. Screw feeders and live bottoms are the most accurate and efficient method of metering bulk materials.
