A welfare state is one which cares about the citizens and helps them with basic necessities like healthcare and employment. Keeping this in mind, the United States has launched a program for investors with a view of increasing jobs for American citizens. This program is known as the EB5 Visa Direct Investment opportunity.

The terms of this program are simple, invest a minimum of 500,000 USD into an enterprise responsible for creating jobs in the United States and you and your family get a permanent green card with a right to live, work and retire anywhere in the United States. In return, the US government gets foreign exchange as well as jobs for their citizens.

The benefits of this include:

  1. No backlogs: when going through the normal route of obtaining a green card, you have to wait for your turn once the competent authority clears the underlying backlog. However, this route is a more immediate option since the US authorities make sure there is no backlog in case of EB5 Direct Investment.
  2. No sponsors: the second most convenient way of getting a green card is when you have a blood relative or employer already a citizen of the United States. For those who don’t have such options, EB5 program provides a much more convenient legal way of migrating to the US.
  3. No need for day to day management: there are two kinds of EB-5 programs, the basic ones and the regional center program. In the latter, there is no requirement of being involved in the day to day management of the company and the amount of investment required is merely 500,000.
  4. Permanent residency: in return of your investment in the targeted areas, the US government approves a permanent citizenship of you and your family with all the benefits that come with it.
